Bingo is a table game that is very similar to lotto, but has some differences. Bingo is quite young, however, that didn’t stop it from gaining a huge audience, and even more people now are becoming fans of this fascinating game.
As many modern gambling games, Bingo has spread across the world, and it all begain in the United States. The origins of this game date back to the times of late Italian Renaissance, when ministers of Italian Rivera were selecting members of the High Council by picking numbered balls out of the bag. Later Bingo was introduced to the States by Italian immigrants and was made popular by New-York businessmen.
The main goal of the game is to fill in all the numbers printed on special cards that the players get, and the player that manages to do it quicker, becomes a winner.
Odds and bets
A certain number of players take part in a game, and this is limited by the number of cards that are marked every time a number is rolled. In order to take part in the game, you need to buy a ticket, and if the game is plaid online, then the ticket is given only after registration and payment. The card has a particular set of numbers printed on it, and different types of Bingo have different cards. The numbers are then generated, and the more matches there are, the higher the probability of a win. Prize capital remains there as a payout to the player that has filled his card the fastest.
There are two main types of Bingo:
- American – number of balls equals to 75;
- British – 90 balls in the machine.
B – I – N – G – O
The American version of the game is a square that is separated into 25 fields and the central field is marked from the start. Each of the five columns has one of the letters printed above: B, I, N, G, O. Similarly, each ball in the machine has the same combination marked on it in addition to the numbers. When marking the numbers rolled, player needs to fill in all the fields. The winning figure is often a silhouette or a figure, such as a cross or a star. The player that filled in his card quicker than his rivals, wins.
Same Game, Different Rules
British version of Bingo traditionally uses rectangular cards. The cards are split into three rows and nine columns. The numbers are shown in some of the fields. There are 15 numbers on the card in total, and these are located randomly, five on each row. The game has three phases. In the first round, the player who was the first to fill in one of the rows, wins. In the second, the fastest player with two full rows is selected, and the player that was the fastest to fill in the whole card, gets the main prize. Potentially several players can fill in the card and all of them can get to share the prize.
