All Russian gambling games have a particular feature, whether it is Roulette or Poker. However, if Russian Roulette is mainly a test for your nerves, Russian Poker is a good way to spend time in an entertaining, and, what’s important, profitable manner.
This type of Poker uses a standard deck (52 cards in total). The table has four spots for players, which are called ’boxes.’ All players can either take all four spaces, or alternatively occupy a single box. The house is present in form of the dealer (croupier), and the spirit of the game is to get cards together for the best combination in order to receive the largest payout.
Ante – way of the game
Prior to serving cards all players make a compulsory bet which is called an ’ante,’ and its value depends on the regulations and policies of the casino or the program of play, but tends to vary from 1/6 to 1/4 of the bet. Ante is there to accelerate the game, and the players that drop their hands can only lose an ante. The dealer then pulls out cards for other players, and five cards for himself with the last card open.
After considering the starting hand, the player has an option of either folding the hand and leaving the game, or making a bet by calling. There is an option to add a card or swap one card by paying a small fee, normally an ante. If the player makes a call after dealing, the croupier opens the hand. The player wins if the dealer does not have any valid card combinations, in such instance, player’s hand is meaningless to the outcome of the game.
One win is good, two are better
If the dealer has a card combination, all players open their cards and compare these to the dealer’s. A special feature of Russian Poker is that in case the player has two combinations, the payout is handed out for both of these. The highest combination on the table wins with the amount of payout depending on the rank of the combination: from one to a hundred.
