Gala Casino, which is the largest UK online casino, has recently completed a research into the personality and habits of an average Poker player. And it has shown surprising divergence between the expectations and the reality.
For example, the vast majority of players that took part in the research stated that they prefer to sip tea or coffee during the game – 75.3%; fuzzy drinks like Coca-Cola were preferred by 79.1% of participants. Less than half of the players prefer an alcoholic beverage while playing with 49.3% going for beer and 41.1% sipping wine.
The comfy home atmosphere is helping the players to focus on the game: 73% of the players admitted that they occasionally switch the TV on and 88.9% prefer to have some background music playing.
Perhaps the most surprising part of the search was that the majority of players (63.4%) prefer prizes such as laptops, TVs, iPhones and tablets to cash. Only 8.5% of all players are not interested in such prizes. When asked about bonuses, the opinions have split roughly in half between welcome bonus as a percentage of the deposit (44.3% of players) and cash-back bonuses (when a set percentage of all bets is returned to the player) – 48.1%.
